Celebrating a Very Special Person!
Happy Birthday to our wonderful son/brother-in-love, Richie!
Sweet sisters sitting next to each other at the dinner table wearing "mint" shirts . . .
just made for a Kodak moment. : -)
The party guests being entertained by Timmy the magician!
(Or was it a comedy show? Oh my! We laughed sooooo much!)
Singing Happy Birthday to the birthday boy!
Richie trying a little trick on Ted . . .
Even Donna, the chicken, got to come to the party!
The party crashers . . .
You are such a blessing to us all Richie!
We thank God for you,
We thank God for you,
and we love you so much!

Meemom's Arrival!
We're happy to have Meemom here from Arizona!
She arrived safe and sound on Thursday late afternoon!
We have lots of fun things planned and sure enjoy just having her close!

But not-so-pleased about the Phoenix heat she brought with her! ;-)
It's been around 100 degrees here yesterday and today.
Not so fun for this thankfully former desert dweller!
I think I'm melting!
So I'm helping myself cope by counting down the days until autumn!!!!
Only 32 days!!!
My favorite time of year is coming soon!!!!
Woo hoo! :-)

Oh, yeah, but I digress. . . . we're so glad Meemom's here!
(And it sure is nice visiting with her in her air conditioned home. : -)

This Week's Little Trials . . .
We are so thankful for God's provisions and blessings, and that when little (and big) trials come into our lives, that we can trust and rest in the fact that God is sovereign over all things!
Victoria started feeling not-so-well a week ago. (Last Friday) Her first few symptoms were severe headache and coughing. Saturday morning she woke up and felt unsettled in her stomach, and wasn't sure she would feel up to going to the family picnic that day. She made it there and through the day, but still wasn't feeling very well. From there, things progressed to chronic fatigue, dizziness, drenching sweats, throwing up everything (even water) and severe coughing. She has been in bed, and sleeping, most of every day this week. Even the smallest tasks were exhausting. It was so hard and sad (and I admit, a little scary!) to see her normally spunky, healthy self so beat. It was also a little troubling, that she was, and still is, the only one in our family that is sick. And for so long!! We've been wondering at times, with the headache and dizziness, if it could have been related to the trauma she experienced two weeks ago with the horse accident? So, we finally took her to the doctor here in Mossyrock, and he thinks she could have "walking pneumonia." We'd be so grateful for your prayers for her!
Valerie has been hobbling around with a deep cut and subsequent stitches needed on top of one of her toes. She sliced it good somehow on the pontoon boat last Sunday night. It has put quite a hiccup in her normal routine!
And I woke up yesterday with a terribly painful and stiff neck! It really affected my entire well-being yesterday, and I needed quite a bit of Ibuprofen! It is getting better slowly today though, so I'm praising the Lord!
Isn't it amazing how even when one little part of our body is hurt, it truly affects our whole well-being, and other people all around us in our life. Just like the Body of Christ!!!

" . . . so that there should be no division in the body,
but that its members should have mutual concern for one another.
If one part suffers, every part suffers with it;
if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.
Now you are the body of Christ, and each of you is a member of it.…"

Special Visit With A Very Special Friend!
We were very blessed to have our long-time friend, Donna, visit us all the way from Arizona last weekend. We got to know Donna from our workplace in Arizona, since before we were married.
So she has been a good friend for almost 30 years now!
And she has been there for all the big events in our lives!
She recently retired, and is enjoying some time traveling in her Mini-Winnie RV!
She pulled in at our house Friday night, and after getting she and her RV settled in,
we took a walk down to Swofford Pond!
We then drove up Green Mountain and watched the beautiful sunset!
(The below picture is not edited! :-)
On Saturday, Donna and Valerie stayed home to help Snowberry deliver her puppies,
while the rest of us headed to an Old-Fashioned Family picnic that some friends of ours host each year in Oregon.
Lots of friends of all ages!
A few of the guys making snow cones look cool!
A few games in the field . ..
On Sunday, after church, we headed out to the lake on PapaBob and Meemom's pontoon boat!
Thanks so much to Valerie and Caroline for taking most of these boating pictures!
This is Hanna, Donna's sweet little companion.
We had a barbeque for dinner on the boat!
On Monday evening, we enjoyed a very special visit with Richie and Lydia on their farm!
Beautiful quail eggs!
Surprise summer lambs . . . Cookie and Cupcake!
We enjoyed seeing Rosie's baby . . . born just that morning!!!!
Thanks so much, Donna, for such a fun visit!
We sure enjoyed our time together!
