Rest and Hope in God Alone

We've had a few of these spectacular rainbow views out our windows lately.
They are always so beautiful . . .especially right now!
Psalm 62:5
 "Find rest, O my soul, in God alone;
my hope comes from him."

Resurrection Day 2020!

It was a quiet, small gathering of the nine people that currently live in our house.
It was a wonderful day of worship and rest!
We are so grateful for what the Lord has done for us and His abundant provisions and blessings!

A-Need-Something-To-Do-While-Staying-At-Home-Project

"I know!"  . . . . "Let's dig a huge hole in the ground and put the trampoline in it!" says Daddy!
(Disclaimer:  No kids were harmed in the photographing for this blog post!)

"And then, we'll dig a big trench to put in a culvert to divert rainwater away from the house (and the big hole) and plant grass seed all over the freshly turned up soil!"  :-)
"Yes!  This will keep us busy for a good three days or more!!!!"
But oh so worth it!  Such fun!

Our Stay-at-Home Life Right Now . . .

So one of my main goals during this stay-at-home season is to try my best to keep morale up among the natives here.  It's not been easy on all of us to stay home all the time and we've all been missing certain things.   My thinking is that even though our days have gotten a little mundane and scary with all the uncertainty and restrictions on everything, that at least I can make comforting food for the troops here. So that is what I've tried to do . . . make comfort food.  This has included lots of baked goods!  We may all gain several pounds, but at least we've had yummy food to look forward to and that soothes our tummies!!! :-)
Kyle and LeAnna invited us to play Ticket To Ride with them electronically!
We each had the board game at our homes, and Tim also helped them with texting some things to them.  It actually worked quite well and they won!!!!

Speaking of comforts of home . .
(She even has comfort food evidence on her face!  Brownie batter! :-)
God has given us this beautiful full moon the last couple of nights . .

And some gorgeous sunny and warm weather!!!!!

Camping out under the stars tonight . . .

First Visit with Marilyn in a Couple Weeks!

This grandma was going a little crazy not being able to get together with this adorable little girl . . .

So we "just so happened" to "pass by" each other today on the road! ;-)
We pulled off and parked at least 6ft from each other in a quiet parking space by the pond, facing opposite directions with our windows rolled down.  It was very wonderful!
Marilyn had their newly born ewe lamb in her lap! :-)
Made my heart so happy to see her and be able to talk to her!

April 1, 2020

So it's been over a month now that we have been experiencing the "new norm" of living with the Coronavirus among us here in the US.

It's been such a surreal reality of things moving quickly toward total "shelter-in-place" or "stay-at-home" mandates.  And it is so sad hearing of all the sick, dead, strained health care workers and systems and people suffering from job layoffs and business closures.  So thankful we KNOW that our God is working ALL things together for GOOD for those who love Him and are called according to His purposes.

I have to admit, I've personally gone through the various stages of anxiety.  I do feel weary from battling the fear.  We have also been bombarded with all kinds of conspiracy theories and other such things that have weighed us down.

We are all missing our favorite things right now.
I'm missing my grandbabies terribly!!!! I can hardly stand it!
Tim is missing his high school baseball season that was cancelled, and his aviation meetings.
Joe is missing his ability to go fishing . . .(even our Swofford Pond has been closed) and getting together with friends.
And I think we are all really missing getting together with our church family.

I'm trying my best to just be thankful.
Thankfulness really is a great weapon in the "Battle of the Whine." :-)
We have soooooo much to be thankful for!!!!
This whole thing has really been shedding light on all that we take for granted,
and how we haven't been nearly as thankful as we should be for ALL that the Lord has given us and blesses us with each day!

Here are a couple pictures from our stay-at-home days.

Worship service at home . . .
(Ben is behind the camera, taking the picture!)
The coronavirus may not kill us, but the things we do while bored at home might . . . . :-(
