Fun Physics!

. . . making and racing Pinewood Derby cars!
The scientists ;-) and participants in our friends' first annual Pinewood Derby Car Race . . . . . .
The competition . . .
The track and the excited fans!
 The results?
Thanks to Kyle's research efforts, teaching, and leading in this scientific experiment,
Kyle and Joseph each won first place in their age classes,
with Timothy's car coming in a close second!
Woo hoo!
Good job, sons!

How amazing:) what a great experience. Did each car race separately? or did they all go at the same time?

@Elanee It was a two car track set-up where you raced head to head, not by time. Since there were two separate divisions separated by age, I didn't get to go head to head with my bros until after all the official racing was over. ;0) Joe and Timmy actually got to the point in their division where they had to race each other, though, which was kind of cool and sad at the same time, because the loser was knocked out of the tournament. Poor, poor Timmy. ;0)

Ok, dumb question.... do they just roll down a ramp? Or do they have batteries? :P ~Shiloh

@Shiloh They just roll down the track. ;0) There were actually no extra devices allowed other than the block of wood, axles, and tires included with the car kit. ;0)

@Meemom SSSHHHH! Concealing that CO2 cartridge was hard! :0P Just kidding.
