Very 1st Church Family Camp

Friday afternoon through Sunday afternoon.
Camped at the Taidnapam Park group camping area.
(Only about a 30 minute drive from home.)

We were the first campers to arrive, so after getting set-up, we set out on an official campground scavenger hunt.  The check-in booth handed out a list of things we needed to find . .  smurfs, gnomes and tree faces were among some on the list.
We had some insider tips . . . the little boy with the dog in this picture tipped us off to where the smurfs were hiding!

Another one of the items on the list . . .animals.   I think we counted this squirrel as one of our animals.
The gnomes like to hide.  They were very elusive . . .

Back at the campground . . . the beginnings of many volleyball games . . .
An adorable little camper friend. . . .

We got in one campfire on Friday night before there was a total ban on campfires announced on Sat.

Sight-seeing down by the Cowlitz River . . .

The air was very smoky from a nearby forest fire.
