A Little Minor Pre-Wedding Detour!

So Saturday morning, one week before the wedding, I began having a terrible stomach ache.  It got progressively worse through the day and into the night.  About 2am, Sunday morning, I decided to call a WebMD doctor and get advice on what it could be.  He suggested I go to the ER to be checked for appendicitis.   Since our guys were away at the men's retreat, I loaded up into the van and drove myself to the ER in Centralia about 4am.  (Caroline was here for the kids!)

After a long wait, and several tests, it was discovered that I was indeed suffering from acute appendicitis and that I would be rushed into surgery to have my appendix removed.  I was discharged around 11am Monday morning!

An all liquid diet never tasted so good or was more enjoyed after enduring all the discomfort of the previous day and night!
Lydia picked me up from the hospital and came back and cleaned the house and she and Valerie made pizzas for the fam for dinner! What special blessings these 2 were! Valerie babysat the kids all day on Sunday and even met with a couple of the new puppy owners that were scheduled to pick up their puppies!  And she communicated with the last family about the last puppy and her and John stayed overnight here and took care of everything here on Monday . .even meeting with this last puppy family!  Valerie also thoroughly cleaned out our fridge!  It needed it so bad . . .especially right before all our family comes in for the wedding and all the meals we'll share together this week!

I took this picture from the comfort of our sofa . . .as Valerie and Lydia worked so hard preparing 4 big pizzas! :-)

Oh my friend, I saw this and couldn’t believe it. God is so good to take care of you, I’m so thankful Caroline was home, and even in such pain you were able to drive yourself to the hospital! Praising God for His protection over you! Sending big hugs!
