12 Years Captured, Chronicled and Kept!

So ever since these two started talking about getting married,
(all two months or so :-) I have been frantically working on a photo storage project.
(Photo credit to Taylor's amazing sister, Amber, at Huckleberry Lane Photography)
You see, I've always loved taking pictures of our growing family.
Ted calls me the "curator" (definition: a keeper or custodian of a museum or other collection)
of our family memories. :-)
So, as part of my curator duties, I needed to get 12 years of 35 mm film hard copies of photos stockpiled in photo boxes into photo albums for each of the quadruplets to have their own set as they leave home.
That doesn't look like much right?
Well, it turns out to be 28 boxes, each filled with packets and packets of ONE original of every picture. And of course, I took a lot of group pictures when the kids were little.
So, that meant scanning and making four copies of each group picture to be able to put one in each of the quadruplets' albums.
The picture below is a classic!
Everywhere we went when the kids were all about the same height we were somewhat of a spectacle. Especially to folks who had hardly ever even heard about higher multiples.
This picture we've titled "Disneyland with our Auntie Cho"
(The reason why we remember this photo so well, is that right after we snapped this picture,
being a little overwhelmed with the crowd that was forming and the folks that were wanting pictures with our kids, we began putting them back in their quadruplet stroller.  To our dismay, our long lost relatives began trying to take the kids back out of the stroller, as they were not finished taking pictures with them yet!)
So, anyway . . .back to what I've been working on every spare moment of my days and late into each night . . . .
It has turned out to be about 10-12 photo albums of 240-300 pictures in each album  . . . times four!
And that is just their first 12 or so years! :-)
The rest of their years were taken with a digital camera, and so photos are stored on an external hard drive, CD's and SD cards.   I stopped trying to keep up with getting hard copies made.  :-(

It's been quite the walk down memory lane, and seeing before my eyes how fast time does fly!
It is truly a bitter-sweet season as at the same time of seeing all these years flash before me in photos, we're planning the upcoming wedding of another sweet daughter.
Another one flying from the nest to start her own family.
It does feel as what they always said it would be . . . "In a blink of an eye, they will be grown!"
I've been so reminded to savor every day and every moment with these precious gifts God has given us!

Sweet, sweet Grandbaby!

Love her so much!
She is soooo adorable and so sweet!
She is 5 months old now!
Papa already has her doing the "standing on Daddy's/Papa's hand" trick!!!
Since she loves to stand, she is a natural! :-)

Kyle's Early 21st Birthday Celebration!

Kyle loves hosting a bunch of friends for a day of volleyball, food and fellowship to help celebrate his birthday each year.  This year, he hosted it a park in Vancouver on a lake, instead of at the beach, as he has in years past.  It worked out really well, as there were two sand volleyball courts already in place, and then we brought a net and set it up in the nice grassy area nearby. There were also several picnic tables to set up all the food and drinks.  And of course, the water and sand was a big hit with the little people.  Unfortunately, Ted was quite sick, so he wasn't able to make it.  I thought it would be nice to take all the kids so he could rest quietly at home.  This was the first time I felt comfortable enough to do that!  It went really well!  The only problem is, I was a little less free to take pictures throughout the day, and needed to leave before dinner and cutting of the birthday cake.  So, I missed lots of Kodak moments.  But here are a few of the day!

Kyle was very excited, as you can see in his photo bomb below . . .
 That's better . . . .
Sweet friends and sisters in the Lord that look kinda similar, huh! :-)

The adorable factor at Kyle's birthday party . . .

We are so blessed to have so many wonderful friends!
Thank you all for coming out to help make Kyle's birthday celebration so special!
I'm so bummed that I didn't get another updated picture later in the day, as many more friends came a few hours after this picture was taken!

 So sorry . .. I know this is supposed to be a post about Kyle . . . .
but the kids were being soooooo good and CUTE!
 Counting off to play SPEED!
 Go Valerie!

 I know . . . there I go again!  Another adorable kid picture! :-)

Victoria . . . makin' it look easy!
 Beautiful Kyle!

Timmy's 13th Birthday Surprise!

This afternoon, Timmy received a huge surprise!!!
He has been dreaming about learning to fly an airplane, and one day possibly becoming a pilot.
He has been wanting to join a Young Eagle's group in our area that might help him explore this possibility and equip him for a potential future in flying. So his Daddy contacted the local Young Eagle's group leader about a week ago, and the very kind man offered to take Timmy on a flight today . . .which happened to be Timmy's 13th birthday!  This all came together yesterday, so we were able to keep it a big secret and surprise him till the moment we met the pilot at the airport.
Victoria and Joe were able to go up with him, and Victoria was able to get some great pictures in the air!! Thank you, Victoria, for spending that hour with Timmy and capturing those special moments.
(It was actually about an hour long flight!!)
Happy Birthday, Timmy!
We love you!!!

Interview and Filming for a Part in a Promotional Video!

We recently had the awesome experience of having a film team come out to the house to interview Caroline, along with the quadruplets, for a small part in a promotional video that Human Life of Washington is putting together.  It will promote all the different ways people can get involved in the pro-life movement.  They were primarily interested in hearing about Caroline's work with 40 Days for Life!
After the interview, the videographer wanted to get some video of Caroline and the family's daily life.
We brought Valerie's newborn puppies out . . .
(Sorry, I couldn't pick which expression is best . . .so I put all four pictures on! :-)

And then he filmed some pumpkin picking. . .
 Some horseback riding . . .

And some playing the piano, etc.
(Not photographed. :-)

We also had the special blessing of meeting the Executive Director of Human Life of Washington.
She is one incredibly passionate pro-life advocate,
and it was an honor and privilege to spend the afternoon with her.
She was so inspiring!
She was also interviewed for the video, right here on our property! :-)
We felt so blessed to be a part of this work!
