A Happy Heart Makes the Face Cheerful

Oh, life is always so merry with this happy heart in the house . . .

(This is his "helmet"!)

He is even happy when getting a haircut!

Beautiful Music!

Saturday, Caroline participated in a "play-a-thon"
at a nearby Safeway store.
It is a fund-raiser to help support local piano students with grants and scholarships for lessons and college.
She did great, as always, with all memorized selections.
We even got her to play "All of Me"
and it was a big hit!
We are sooooo blessed to be able to listen
to her beautiful music every day!
By special AZ Donna request : -) . . . just added Caroline's rendition of "All of Me"
that was originally posted on their "All 4 the Glory of God" blog in December.
I think you should be able to get there by clicking on the address below . . .

Her littlest fan, cheering her on!

Beautiful Day for a Hike to the Beach!

Yesterday, it was a beautiful,
sunny and relatively warm day for January!
So we decided to make a trip to the coast
in search of a good hike near the ocean!
And we found an awesome one near Long Beach!!
A couple pictures on our way there . . .
We always enjoy stopping in Astoria
to see the sea lions!
And of course, we needed to get "fueled up"
at our favorite little bakery in Long Beach!
A very nice lady offered
to take a picture of all of us!!
This was the very first picture taken as we set out on our first hike!
The sun was shining brightly!
(Since I'm not a very good photographer,
and we live in the Pacific NW,
I don't know what to do with the sun!
So a few of the pictures were a little
"washed out" with the bright sunshine!)

First lighthouse we came to had this sign that says "erected in 1898"!!!
Pretty cool!
These next few pictures are from our second hike.
It was an AWESOME trail through some really cool trees!

I think this one below is one of my favorites!
I love the way the sun in shining down
on Daddy and Benjamin.

After working very hard hiking
on this 1.5 mile trail,
Benajmin fell asleep. : -)

When we finished the 1.5 mile trail,
we walked down to the ocean!

And the kids decided to scale this mountain to retrieve our van,
rather than walking all the way back on the trail!
Can you spot them on the mountainside?

They made it just fine,
and came back with the van to pick the rest of us up!
Woo hoo!
Then we did just a bit more looking around the area,
and took this last picture before heading home!
It was a wonderful day!

Saturday Afternoon on the Farm and Hike!

Yesterday, we had a delightful visit on the Tevis farm!
We just love spending time with Richie and Lydia
(and Rich and Janet, too!)
BTW, aren't they the cutest couple you've ever seen? : -)
First stop was visiting Smith and Wesson!

They are sooooo cute!

I just really enjoy their ears! : -)

Can you see the JOY of lambing season
all over Lydia's beautiful face!!! : -)
And in the far left background, if you look closely,
Elsie looks like she's giving Benjamin a kiss on his adorable face!

There's always something for everyone
on the farm!
Of course, the boys love the tractors!
And it didn't take the boys long at all to find this little sledding hill!
(Lucy is coming to help! : -)

Timmy and Joe were being very careful not to let Benjamin go down the little icy hill by himself,
as they were worried he might go too fast and be scared. :-(

As I mentioned,
there's something for everyone . . .

Even enjoying a tasty carrot treat
still fresh from the garden!

Then it was the lambs turn to get fed again!

 I love these candid pictures . . .
so sweet!

Pure sweetness here too. . .

And here . . .

And back at the house,
we enjoyed their sweet hospitality with
warm chili and cherry coffee cake! Yum!
It was a wonderful visit!
Thank you Richie and Lydia!!
You are a delight to our souls!

Then, we went for a little hike up the hill to the DeGoede's cross.

A Good Reminder

Psalm 37:1-7

Do not fret because of evil men or be envious of those who do wrong;
for like grass they will soon wither,
like green plants they will soon die away.
Trust in the Lord and do good;
dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.
Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart.
Commit your way to the Lord;
trust in Him and He will do this:
He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn,
the justice of your cause like the noonday sun.
Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him;
do not fret when men succeed in their ways,
when they carry out their wicked schemes.

Saturday Hike

This was our Saturday morning greeting!
Then, we took a 2 hour hike up a nearby logging road!
Benjamin is very excited about the new backback carrier
we picked up this morning off CL!

Beauitful icicles around the creek!
Having fun cracking ice on a pond.
Beautiful view at the top!
