Specialness of Psalm 20 and 21

". . . How great is the joy in the victories you give!
You have granted him the desire of his heart
and have not withheld the request of his lips."
" He asked you for life, and you gave it to him . . ."
Psalm 21:1a-2 and 4a

Both Psalm 20 and Psalm 21 have always had a very special significance to our family.  About 20 years ago, on October 21, 1994, we found out that we were pregnant with Lydia.  After several years of praying and waiting on the Lord, this was such a special day!  I "happened" to look at Psalm 21 that day, and read the above verse.  Since that day, both Psalm 20 and Psalm 21 have meant so much to us.

Psalm 20 is a prayer of God's people, along with David, asking the Lord for victory (in battle).

"May He give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed.
We will shout for joy when you are victorious
and will lift up our banners in the name of our God.
May the Lord grant all your requests."
Psalm 20:4-5

So, though the circumstances are different for King David in these Psalms, they are still relevant to us in many ways, and will always remind us of the Lord's whispering to us that He heard our prayers and the prayers of His people for victory over our battle with infertility, and for our heart's desire for the blessing of a child!  And then Psalm 21 is so special as it refers to His answer, and to all our collective praises to the Lord, and for how He made us "glad with the joy of His presence!"

Now fast forward 20 years, and our family was blessed with bringing home Brielle on the 21st of February, adopting her on October 21st, and today, on the 21st of November, Antioch Adoptions is receiving our updated paperwork, as we pray and ask God for additional blessings from the US orphanage system.

And we would be so grateful for your prayers with us, as we seek God's perfect will in this!  May "His glory be great!" Thanks soooo much!
