Third and Last Day in Colorado!

A father-son breakfast at Cracker Barrel started the day off right! 

And then a sweet son to mother special gift made my day!!!!  

And while Kyle and LeAnna had their daily snuggles with Liliah in the NICU, we had fun with some more sight-seeing in the Colorado Springs area. We ended up stumbling onto these old gold-mining towns . . .Victor and Cripple Creek.  Both were established in the 1890's. It was a beautiful scenic drive, and all very fascinating!

And then, for our favorite part of the day, we were able to attend a 5pm church service with Kyle and LeAnna, and went back to their apartment for a yummy chicken and rice dinner and another round of Ticket to Ride!  What a perfect day!  We sure enjoyed our time with Kyle and LeAnna in their neck of the woods in Colorado! (Their apartment is in the picture below.) 

 

Day Two in Colorado!

While Kyle and LeAnna had their daily snuggle time with Liliah in the hospital,

(only parents are allowed in the NICU)

we took our very fun rental vehicle up a hill onto a National Forest Service road. 

It reminded us so much of Flagstaff, AZ! 

As hard as we tried to leave ALL our worries at home, we stumbled across a TANSY plant😱, and just couldn't rest until it was pulled out!  

We took a small walk about this wolf and wildlife center.

Then our favorite part of the day . . .meeting up with Kyle and LeAnna!  They spent the morning at the hospital with Liliah.  Here's Kyle with his array of hospital stickers! :-) 

We had fun gifting them with some baby clothes for Liliah!

And then we enjoyed giving them a special gift with Liliah's name on it for them to add to their little Christmas village gazebo.

We thoroughly loved eating out at a delicious Mexican restaurant on a two story deck overlooking the beautiful Colorado Springs mountains. 

Then, back to their apartment for a fun game of Ticket to Ride.  Guess who won???  👵 Grandma! :-) 

 

Trip to CO to Visit Kyle and LeAnna!

We headed out Thursday afternoon to the airport. 

Had a few little delays on our way . . . this was one of them . . . 

But we had to stop for Chick-Fil-A for sure! 

We still got to the airport with plenty of time.  TSA was a breeze as there was no one waiting in line!!!! 

Just had to take all the airplane and flying pictures for our aviator son, Tim! 

Pretty cool to see this hot air balloon flying below us! 

Our first day . . off to the Garden of the gods park!  It reminded us a lot of Sedona, AZ

Then, we found the Summit Ministries home where it all started for Kyle and LeAnna. 

It was an old hotel that was purchased by Summit.  

We were fascinated with how this huge hotel was built on the side of a hill. 

We enjoyed walking around Manitou Springs, CO where Summit is located and where Kyle and LeAnna spent their first 9 months or so as a married couple. 

Then, at last!  We joined up with Kyle and LeAnna after Kyle's work and a visit to see their sweet Liliah.  We got pizza and went for a scenic drive!

They took us to another really awesome mountain drive. We found this guy climbing a very steep mountainside. 

 Can't wait for tomorrow!!!!
