Woeful Wednesday . . .

So guess what? We woke up to TWO FLAT tires. . .
So  . . . off we went to the Yellowstone service station.

And came up with another couple hours of killing time with the kids.  We decided to take a walk toward a nearby lake.

We ended up getting lost on our way back to where we were supposed to meet Daddy.  Ha!  So par for the course for this trip!  Thankfully, a nice Yellowstone courtesy shuttle noticed our plight, and gave us a ride back to where we were supposed to be!
After dumping our tanks, we just decided we better head out of the park to try to get our propane line fixed.  (From one of our tires that blew and damaged the propane pipe.)
We saw this guy outside the park . . .walking AWAY from the park.
And this mama moose and her baby. . .
After making a couple stops, we were blessed to find this place that was able to fix our propane line for us!
Shortly thereafter, our toilet in the RV stopped functioning properly.
So we needed to stop for potty breaks. :-(
And we ended up on a treacherous climb through the Bighorn Mountain Forest.  Apparently, it was the route that was recommended to us by Google Maps for the shortest drive to where we were headed . . . just didn't know that we were in a large motor home!
We were the only ones on this highway most of the time!  (Hmmmm . . .I wonder why?  I guess most folks knew something that we didn't know!)
We didn't realize what a steep climb, full of switchbacks and sheer drop offs, it was going to be! We ended up climbing 9,500 feet going about 20 miles per hour!!! We stressed our engine and transmission to the max! And we burned through so much fuel that if it hadn't of been for Bear Lodge Resort at the top having fuel, we might have run out of gas before reaching civilization again!  That was all so stressful.  But then, of course, the drive down was another VERY stressful 20mph with hairpin turns and steep declines.
We are so thankful that, once again, we were kept safe!
But didn't make it near as far as we had hoped today!!!

And now, we're back to a Walmart parking lot, and Daddy is trying to fix the commode!
What a day!

Ugh! I've taken that same route east of Yellowstone through the Bighorn National Forest, not realizing what I was in for. On my way back, I just stayed on I-90 all the way up through Hardin and Billings, avoiding that awful climb.
