of tired tires . . .
Number THREE blew today soon after we left Les Schwab with two more new tires!
We landed in Superior, Montana
Joe and Tim tried a little fishing nearby where we got the spare put on.
We had this service come to us to help get our spare put back on.
Then we were able to drive a short distance to Missoula, Montana and enlist the after-hour services of Tire-Rama since we didn't make it there until closing time.
So in the end, we ended up purchasing all new tires . . .SIX of them to be exact.
Only cost us $3,000+; the loss of using our propane stove (broken pipe); and a lot of time!
We've seen a lot of blessings through it . . .like our safety each time in being able to pull off onto a shoulder quickly and that it was never a front tire that blew; a place to get the spare put on and another place to get a new tire(s) each time; really kind and helpful people along the way; and Tim and Joe being real troopers in helping us with so many things.

Yikes! That could have been a disaster. I'm so glad you were safe during all that trouble. I just bought 6 new Bridgestone tires for my motor home this summer. It only cost me $1300 though. I guess that was the advantage of taking it into Discount Tire before I had to have all the after hours roadside service calls. I'm even gladder now to be heading down the road with new shoes on the pavement after reading about your experiences. Stay safe now, and blessings on your family as Kyle and LeAnna are married this weekend.
P.S. Good thing you left home with plenty of time to get there even with the 2 day delay.
Hey Donna! Yes, good call on getting new tires before your road trip! :-) Such peace of mind! Hope you're having a great trip! I'm assuming to Idaho? :-) Where else have you been/are you planning to go?
We are very thankful for many things through this. God definitely protected us and provided the help we needed along the way.
Ted really thought the tires looked good before we left, and even the professional tire folks couldn't figure out why the tires would have blown like that based on how old the tires were and that we haven't driven it much.
Thanks for saying hello and well wishes for Kyle and LeAnna!

I'm actually heading east this time. I'm attending the 50th anniversary celebration of my dear high school friends in Alabama, then doubling back to pick up the Natchez Trace Parkway and driving it from Natchez, MS to Nashville, TN while camping along the way and sightseeing in Civil War historical areas. (My tires still had plenty of tread, but were 7 years old.) You can always catch up with my travels on my RV blog here: http://driveonup.blogspot.com/
