Day Twelve - NYC

Sunday (Day 11) was mostly a travel day, and we decided to get a hotel room so the kids could swim and we all could shower. : -)   We started the day headed toward Boston to check out the Freedom Trail, but on our way, we encountered several accidents and subsequent traffic jams, which gave us time to think about whether or not we would even have a place to park our rig in Boston.   As it turned out, it didn't look real likely that we would be able to find a place to park near the Freedom Trail, so we turned around and headed toward New York City. (Stayed in Secaucus, NJ)

Monday morning we all loaded up on a bus from the hotel to go into NYC.  We left around 8:30am.  We walked the city all day, and got back to our rig and hotel room right at 10pm!!!  Whew, what a long day!   Kyle has posted several pictures of our day on his blog at:

And here are a few more . . .

NYC made this Mommy very nervous!
Even with our buddy system in place,
I was constantly doing a head count!
It was such a relief to me when we were all safely loaded back on the bus!

How Brielle saw NYC. . . .
being carried all day! : -)
She loved it!

At least there were police officers everywhere. : -)
Big bro and little bro enjoying lunch at McDonald's!

My favorite place in NYC! : -)

 Our big purchase in NYC!
A candy treat for each of us!
 Sibs in the subway!
Benjamin enjoying the swings in Central Park!

  1. You should have seen NYC before Rudy Giuliani cleaned it up. I couldn't believe the difference from my first trip in 1993 and my next one in 2005. I know what you mean about keeping a large group together on the streets of the city. It was very nerve wracking when we took a group of eight in 1992.

Such a vacation you are having! Keep blogging. We are all living this tour with you through your posts.

  2. I didn't know there were horses back east. I thought that was only in the wild west. So glad you left NY with everyone accounted for. Good thing I wasn't there. I would have had a bad case of worry. Love, Meemom
