Special Outing with Tim!

So this might beat all the crazy COVID-19 related things we've done so far!  

Tim and I drove all the way to Wenatchee (5 hour drive with stops) to secure his driver's permit yesterday! 

(There are only 14 DOL offices open statewide in WA right now! AND you have to have an appointment AND they are booked 30 days out with no other options to schedule any appointment, even on the 31st day out.  But thankfully, after staying up until midnight the night before to keep looking for a cancellation online at any of the 14 locations, I secured the one 11:20am appt. in Wenatchee!)  

So after our somewhat stressful drive (car troubles a couple times, going to the wrong Wenatchee DOL office, several missed turns in the strange city, running smack into a cute little squirrel eating his breakfast with our front tire, etc.) we arrived right on time for our appointment!

After the appointment, we were close enough to Leavenworth to enjoy a little visit there. 

We could only stay 1/2 hour as we needed to get Tim back to Yakima for his online zoom driver's ed class starting at 3:30.  (We were planning to use McDonald's internet for that, but their lobby still isn't open there, so the internet seemed to not be working.  We were able to use the hot spot on one of our phones for part of it and then had to find a Starbucks to finish the 2 hour class!)

The flowers everywhere in Leavenworth were soooo pretty! 

 The American flag has never meant more to me than now! 

This was a huge one we saw after leaving Leavenworth!
