Whew! A lot has happened since the last post here!
This summer is sure speeding by with lots and lots of activities!
And this keeper-of-the-blog hasn't had a free minute to update things here!
So when we last left off, it was mid-July and Taylor and Victoria were here for a visit. I think they were able to stay through mid-Monday and then we began gearing up for family camp! Since Pure Joy Labradors had a few important, timely events going on over the weekend, and two of our littlest kids are still not quite ready for such such a big camp experience, I stayed home to keep watch on the fort, three wee natives, and a bunch of wild animals.
But first, we enjoyed a few more fun visits with Meemom and PapaBob before the campers headed out Friday morning.
So then, the family pulled out early on Friday morning the 20th, and pregnant Annie continued in early stages of labor till I finally decided to go to bed for a couple hours just after midnight. 😞When I woke up Saturday morning at 3:30am to check on her, she had already had three puppies, and one did not survive. :-( She continued having what we thought was going to be a small 4-5 litter, based on an early ultrasound, until around 10:30am . .. just in time for me to take another of Pure Joy's females in for a progesterone test. She ended up having ten puppies! (Unfortunately, three didn't survive.)
I was sooooo thankful for Lydia and Meemom coming over for some reinforcements that morning!
Lydia helped give Annie some Oxycontin injections and helped deliver a few puppies, and Meemom helped watch kids through it all!
This little guy was also one of our responsibilities over the weekend.
He is still a sweet puppy available from Snowberry and Charlie's litter.
And then there's Charles . . . . 💕
Soooooo thankful for this little adorable little helper too. She was my right-hand animal care-taker the whole four days the family was away!

On Sunday evening, we were blessed to have Aunt Shawn arrive here from Arizona!
She flew in Sunday afternoon and PapaBob and Meemom picked her up from the airport and they also picked up Chinese food for our dinner that night! We sat out on their deck and enjoyed a lovely evening and introduced Aunt Shawn to the game of Quiddler. On Sunday night, at my 1:30am check on the puppies, I got a little fright as I was in and out of the house doing a few things, and found a drone flying close-by our garage! I think it was probably our weekend camping neighbors up the hill, but was a little startled to hear and see this at 1:30-2:00am!!!
Monday morning we took Aunt Shawn for a drive around our area and hit all the highlights . . . Mossyrock Park, a Riffe Lake scenic overlook drive, DeGoede's bulb farm and the big blueberry farm! Then, Monday night we took a fresh blueberry cake over for another nice visit on their back deck and another few rounds of Quiddler, before the Fam arrived home around 9pm from family camp.
Shortly after their arrival home, Timmy and Joe received the radio controlled airplanes that they had ordered. They have been enjoying them so much this week!
Can you spot Joe's plane crossing the full moon? :-)
Tuesday I was blessed to have Marilyn here all day! She is such a joy, and I am so enjoying being her Gramma! :-)
Wednesday, we loaded up the van and took Aunt Shawn to the ocean! We were very surprised to find that it was socked in with a marine layer of heavy fog!
Thursday, was Ben's 8th birthday and a fun day out on the boat . . . . to be continued in Part 2!
