Good Monday morning to all my prayer warriors!
“What do you say to someone who feels like they’ve lost it
all – over the edge with no one there to break their fall? What do you
say to someone who feels so unloved, giving themselves away a little bit every
day, just to be good enough? What do you say to a hopeless soul who can’t
remember her way home and everything is out of her control? There is no
valley, there is no darkness, there is no sorrow greater than the GRACE of
Jesus. There is no moment, there is no distance, there is no heartbreak
He can’t take you through. So before you think that you’re too lost to
save - remember there is nothing greater than GRACE.” (Point of
Grace)
“I actually just had an abortion...” she said as her
boyfriend drove her out of PP Friday morning. I was standing by the exit
praying and as they stopped before driving out of the lot - I made eye-contact
with the girl and mustered a smile. She looked at me, looked down at my
sign, and then with a chuckle rolled down her window and spoke those words. The
excruciating reality of abortion hit me that moment. I couldn’t bear
it. I tried to hold back the tears, but they started flowing as I grieved
for that young woman who could not grieve yet. The thought of that precious
little one whose voice will never be heard….the reality of knowing that the
devil will come back to accuse and condemn that young girl… the young man who
will never get the chance to meet his precious son or daughter… it all hit me
as I nearly choked – trying to swallow past the knot that had formed in my
throat. A thought ran through my mind – “just don’t think about
it, and you’ll get through this.” A comfort it was for all of
2 seconds before I felt indignation rise up within me – “NO! We DO
need to think about this!” Let it sink in - as painful
and difficult as it is. I’ve been apathetic WAY too long—the church
has been apathetic WAY too long. May the excruciating reality of abortion
spur us on to continue fighting the spiritual battles and interceding for those
precious little ones whose voices will never be heard. “Let’s persevere in
the storm, praying for the chance to bring truth, hope and help to any woman impacted
by the tragedy of abortion . . . hoping to help some to become their baby’s
heroic defender, for life!” (Ted Bowes)
Pray for that young woman (and millions more) who was deceived
into making what seemed like an easy and convenient choice at the time. Satan
is not only the tempter but the accuser as well. First He encourages the sin,
then He turns around to shame the sinner. He mixes lies with truth to
maneuver us into thinking that abortion is actually a good thing – in some
cases, even a responsible thing. But the moment the abortion is over he condemns,
he embitters and he shames. He is after all “a roaring lion looking for
someone to devour (1 Peter 5:8) I know her time of grieving will come. Grieve
for her… for a broken and contrite spirit is the sacrifice God desires.
(Psalm 51:17) Pray that the witness of God’s mercy and grace that
she saw in us – the very day she had an abortion – will stay with her in the
next days, weeks and years of her life. Pray that she will one day accept
the GRACE that is greater than all sin, condemnation and pain. Our heavenly
Father has already defeated the powers of sin and death – there is therefore
now NO condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus!
I look forward to witnessing and experiencing the power of our
almighty God and Savior as He hears and answers our prayers in this coming
week! Stand fast my fellow soldiers – “may our battle cry be “love” as we reach
out to those in darkness!” (Keith
Getty – Oh Church Arise)
“Love must be
sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be
devoted to one another in love. Honor
one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your
spiritual fervor, serving
the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient
in affliction, faithful
in prayer.”
(Romans
12:9-12) NIV
For Christ and His Kingdom!
