We were very blessed to be able to attend Mission Connexion 2019!
One of the reasons that is was so special is that Luis Palau spoke to us on Friday night!
He is 84 and is battling stage 4 lung cancer. Though he is continuing to make plans to preach in this new year, it is possible that the Lord may be calling him home soon!
He still had a lot of passion and a great sense of humor!
We were very, very blessed!
Then, all day Saturday, we heard from a couple other great speakers and were able to watch the movie "The Insanity of God."
"The Insanity of God is the true story of missionaries Nik and Ruth Ripken. After the death of their son, this ordinary couple journeys into the depths of the persecuted church, asking the question- IS JESUS WORTH IT?
How does faith survive, let alone flourish in the places of the world that are over come with the darkness of sin, despair and hopelessness? Join the Ripkens as they tell the story of being taught by believers in persecution"how to follow Jesus, how to love Jesus, and how to walk with Him day by day even when it doesn't make sense."
The film is based on the best-selling book Insanity of God (BH Publishing) and is released in association with the International Mission Board (IMB)."

Then, since we were only a 30 minute drive from Taylor and Victoria's house, we were super duper blessed to spend dinner and an overnight stay with them!
(Valerie stayed home as a labor of love to help Caroline get to the missions conference.
Caroline is currently in the middle of a house/dog sitting job for a co-worker that Valerie was able to cover for her so she could be freed up to go to the conference! Thank you so much, Valerie! We missed you!!!! )
Sounds like your conference was very inspiring. So glad most of the family was able to go.
ReplyDeleteThe pictures of all of you came out very nice. Nice to see pictures of the family now that the two youngest adoptees are official.
The pictures of Luke are so cute. He gets to keep his medal for the smilingest baby ever.
