As a mom of many, it is so easy to lose sight of the greatest job that the Lord has given me, in the midst of meeting the pressing, physical needs of the family. But yesterday, Pastor Dean's sermon renewed my vision in many ways.
I would highly recommend this message (but all of his are so awesome, too!) They can be found here . . .
One of the verses that he used yesterday that jumped out at me is Colossians 1:28-29 . . .
"He is the one we proclaim, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ. To this end I strenuously contend with all the energy Christ so powerfully works in me."
I want to be this and do this with the days He has given me . . . relying on the Lord's strength that is at work in me. I did a little study just on this verse this morning, and up popped our former pastor's (in Flagstaff, AZ) sermon that he preached just about a year ago. What a great way to start the new year!

I pray with all the Lord's help and strength, that I will be much more intentional in 2017 about proclaiming Jesus, and teaching everyone with all wisdom more and more throughout my days, especially to the 10 disciples He has currently placed right here in our home. :-)
VERY convicting! You're doing a wonderful job at training an discipling your 10 beautiful children. I was very impressed by your desire to want to change and grow this next year. I'll continue to pray that the Lord will bless your efforts in striving to be more Christ-like.
ReplyDeleteKeep pressing on!!!

ReplyDeleteAmen, such a great reminder yesterday from Pastor Dean! Keep pressing forward in Him, Mom! I know He will continue to bless you and strengthen you as you serve Him with all your heart, soul and strength and strive to teach your children diligently of HIM all throughout the day!

Yes, that was such a great sermon, as always! We are so blessed to have Pastor Dean!
ReplyDeleteI wholeheartedly agree.... you have and are doing a wonderful job disciplining us and training us up in the way we should go! :) And I will always thank God for that! You have the most important and rewarding job there is! I know that your 10 disciples aren't always the easiest or most willing peoples to train... so, thank you Lord for the strength and patience that you give daily!
I love you!!
