We had such a blast last Friday night and also Monday morning helping bring in some hay on the Tevis farm. They did all the hard work beforehand, not only with the labor intensive part, but also dealing with some mechanical and weather related issues.
But we just got to show up in the end for a fun social time. :-)
Thank all of you Tevises so much for inviting us and allowing us the joy of helping on the farm!
We had a little downtime in the field while some more hay was being baled.
So, it was a great photo opportunity!
(Unfortunately, Kyle and Caroline missed out on the fun on Friday night.
But they were enjoying themselves very much and were very glad and thankful to be helping out our friends that hosted the family picnic on Saturday. )
Okay . . . now to work!
Then, we gathered again on Monday morning for help with getting the last of the hay into the barn.
Ben took a special liking to this sweet hen.
He carried her around most of the time on Friday night and Monday morning.

On our way down to the picnic on Saturday morning, we were rehearsing our skit in the van, and Benny stops in the middle of it and says . . .
"Mommy, if I do REALLY good, can I have a . . . . . . CHICKEN?" : -)
Can I take a moment and brag on my awesome son-in-law?
Richie is amazing in so many ways!
And he can fix or make just about anything.
He MADE a part for the hay rake and repaired the rake,
and he also MADE and welded in a big section of this hay elevator!!
Thanks also to friends Doug and Matthew who also helped out a lot!
So guess what?
Benny is so happy! He is now the proud owner of "Donna" the hen! : -)
Thank you, Lord, for the blessing of all that hay in their barn,
and for the blessing of such special times with family.
Nothing says summer like hay days!! :) Thanks for taking all those photos! Fun times!
