Yesterday, we (Valerie, Brielle and I) made a trip up to Seattle Children's Hospital for Brielle's follow-up appointment with the specialist there. He reviewed her blood work with us, and had good news and bad news for us. The bad news is that her type of condition is the least responsive to the traditional medications that are used currently for treatment. The good news is that there are new medications coming out, which might be available to her when she is old enough, that are easier to administer, for shorter durations, and with a higher success rate of remedy. So he is very hopeful! And so are we, especially knowing all is in the Lord's sovereign hands and power to heal.
Monday we took her in to her pediatrician for her 18 month well-check, and so she's had a couple more traumatic days. She cries now just walking in to the exam rooms. : -( But we have a happy day of celebration in Seattle coming very soon, when she will be officially adopted into our family! We can't wait!!!
The news of the adoption is fantastic! So happy to hear it is definitely moving toward that final and happy day. Praying for sweet Brielle's health and all the treatment options. Love you!
