I just talked with Lydia again. Sounds like they are preparing Richie to be moved out of ICU pretty soon. They have removed several tubes and monitoring devices. He has had a chest x-ray, and some samples were collected for monitoring. He is still on very strong pain medication, but Lydia said his pain might be decreasing a bit, possibly from a "5" to a "4" so that is awesome!
Richie said he felt a little beat-up though, by some not-so-gentle technicians. Tubes and IV sites were pulled and banged and in general, just not very nice! : -( But we remain ever so thankful for the care and healing that he is receiving there!!
