Jack Frost Has Arrived . . . .

. . . .both figuratively and literally . . . . in the form of a little lamb born this morning!

Meet "Jack Frost"

He and his little sister were born early this morning . . .right after Lydia fed all the sheep around 5am, and none of the pregnant ewes were giving any signs of an imminent delivery! A couple hours later, Victoria happened to notice that the sheep pen was one less of a full barn full. She looked around and saw the mama ewe and two frozen little lambs beside her outside on the snowy ground. She called for help, and when Lydia got to the lambs they were already frozen stiff. But with "all hands on deck" working together to get them into the garage and after some warm baths, they started perking up. The little boy, affectionately named "Jack Frost" was a little slower in his recovery. So he was brought in the house to warm up by the fire. After an hour or so, he was doing well enough to return to his mama in the garage, but with all the bathing and time away from her, she decided not to recognize him : - ( So we have our first ever bottle baby! We always wanted one . . . . and now we have one!
Are you my mother? Ahh, this looks like a barn!

  3. Kudos to Victoria for spotting those little frozen lambs and kudos to the others who came to their rescue. They are very cute!!! How is the bottle feeding going, Lydia? Little Jack could not have a kinder or prettier mother than Lydia....
    Thanks for sharing!!! Love, Meemom
