This Weekend in Pictures . . .

John and Valerie had their kennel built this week, so we've been over to their home helping them get it all set up in preparation for moving their dogs over soon!
After the work party on Friday, they treated us to a yummy hamburger dinner!  It was such a lovely day for it!
Saturday morning, Joe and Caroline decided to go on a long run . . .  6 miles to be exact!
They ran all the way down to DeGoede's bulb farm!  It was a beautiful morning!

When Life Gets Really Strange . . .

because there is a scary-looking virus lurking all around us. . .
we can still run down the hill and go fishing.   We are so thankful for that!

Some Snow and Lots of Logging!

We decided to try to clear a stand of trees to open up a view of the pond!
I think it was an ambitious thought!
We took down 5 trees in 5 hours!  Only have about 100 more to go! Ha!

March Comes in with a BANG . . . .

and it was definitely a different way to spend our 31st wedding anniversary!

"Come and hear, all you who fear God; let me tell you what he has done for me." Psalm 66:16

Praising the Lord for saving my soul once, and sparing my life . . . once again!

On the afternoon of our 31st wedding anniversary, I was involved in a terrible accident on Interstate 5 near Centralia.  It was 4pm and I was approaching the Harrison Rd. exit, en-route from the Tumwater Costco to the First Christian Church in Centralia, where I was to pick up 3 boys from basketball and get Brielle and Peter to their violin lessons.
In my rearview mirror I noticed a lot of commotion going on, coming up fast to our van that was in the middle lane.
It all happened sooooo fast . . . I was hit HARD and then witnessed right before my eyes a little white car that must have been going 100+ mph driving BETWEEN cars in my lane and the left lane. Then . . .he hit a truck and it began to roll, and roll, and roll, all the way across the interstate right in front of me. Our left rear tire had been hit hard and was knocked off the rim, and so I was focused on maintaining control of our van, while trying to avoid the rolling truck in front of me, the white car spinning out of control, and debris raining down all over the place.
The driver of that little white car was completely crazed. I don't even know how to describe what he was doing. He wasn't being chased or racing, and he wasn't being just a crazy-fast driver trying to pass a few cars. It was unlike anything I've ever seen . . .even on the best car chase/crash videos.
I know God's hand of protection was all over this accident. How more people didn't end up involved, and how the driver of the truck wasn't killed . . . . is a miracle! And we are praising the Lord that the 3 of us in our van were safe!
The pictures were from my ancient Tracphone, so not very good! But they give an idea of what the crash scene looked like. That is our van in the photos where the paramedics are tending to the injured drivers. All lanes of I-5 were closed for a short time, and down to one lane for a long time. They called off the life-flight for the lady in the truck, as she was apparently in stable enough condition to travel the short distance to the hospital in an amulance.
A special thanks to Caroline Bowes for picking up the boys from basketball for us! And to my beloved husband . . it felt better than ever to be in your arms again at that gas station parking lot at 7pm! Not exactly the way we planned our anniversary celebration, but so thankful, nonetheless!
This is the car that belonged to the mad man that caused the accident.
This is the truck that rolled over several times across the freeway and landed upside down.
Our damage on our van . . .
